Generally speaking...

  • Eat/deny ground pots from enemies.
  • Don’t waste resources on fights that are already lost (e.g., using Limit Break in a 1v5).
  • Keep track of major job cooldowns (e.g., Dragoon’s ‘Roar’ and ‘Wyrmwind’, White Mage’s ‘Miracle of Nature’, and Machinist’s ‘Drill’).
  • Don't frontline a fight without mana.

If being focused/hit...

  • Expect to be crowd-controlled and damaged out of Guard.
  • Press Guard if you are an easy target.
  • Don’t frontline a fight without Purify (especially if the enemy has hard crowd-control abilities).
  • Don’t use Guard while you have resilience already up.

If hitting people...

  • Keep track of enemy defensives and target people who don't have them up.
  • Burst and crowd-control people out of Guard.
  • Don't use crowd-control actions into the enemy’s Guard or resilience.
  • Target enemy players with Limit Break, or about to get Limit Break.
  • Target enemy players if they are mispositioning (e.g., players standing on crystal for no reason).

Tactically speaking...

  • Don't save Limit Break for too long, but sometimes you will have to hold it.
  • Don't stack on the crystal if you don't have to.
  • Know what enemy resources you're fighting into and play around them.
